Purpose
This article explains how Account Managers create and submit a new Contract Opportunity intake in Dynamics 365 Sales.

Prerequisites
- User must have access to Dynamics 365 Sales Hub
- Required Opportunity permissions must be assigned
Navigation Path
Sales Hub → Opportunities → Create New Contract
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 — Create a New Contract Opportunity
- Open Dynamics 365 Sales
- Select Opportunities from the left navigation pane
- Click Create New Contract
This opens the Contract Intake form.
Step 2 — Complete the Contract Intake Information
Fill in all required intake fields and save your work.
Required information includes but not limited to:
- Topic
- Account Name
- Account Manager
- Business Unit
- Contract Type
- Contract Start Date
Step 3 — Complete Revenue and Pricing Information
Complete the financial and operational details section.
This includes:
- Revenue details
- Pricing information
- Cost of Goods
- OPEX details
- Contract metrics
- Contract material details
Step 4 — Review the Intake Submission Stage
Navigate to the Business Process Flow at the top of the Opportunity.
Within the Intake Submission stage:
- Confirm all required stage fields are completed
Step 5 — Submit the Intake Stage
Click Next Stage.
This action:
- Submits the Contract Intake
- Sends a notification email to the Contract Coordinator
What Happens Automatically
After submission:
- The Contract Coordinator receives a notification email
- The Opportunity moves into the internal review process
- The Contract Intake is ready for approval preparation
Important Notes
All required fields must be completed before moving to the next stage.
Financial and pricing details should be reviewed carefully before submission.
